The new elementary school, referred to as Valley Region Elementary School #9, houses 800 students in 33 new classrooms and facilities that total approximately 64,969 sf over two stories. The entire school is built over a below grade parking structure and resides on 3.98 acres of land in Los Angeles. Andres and Maria Cardenas Elementary has received a Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS) score of 35 for sustainability.
