Tilden-Coil Partners with The Grove and the City of Riverside for Homeless Housing

Tilden-Coil is the lead private industry partner for a transitional housing demonstration project called The Grove Village. This will be the first project to respond to the City of Riverside’s Love your Neighbor Campaign. This campaign allows houses of worship to care for the housing needs of our homeless brothers and sisters on church campuses. The purpose of this project permits homeless and/or low-income individuals to remain in the village housing until they can stabilize their lives, then move into a more permanent living situation elsewhere.

According to an article written by the City of Riverside, other partners include Rotary International, Habitat for Humanity, Champion Electric, and Riverside Unified School District STEM. “We’re so thankful for all the partners who have come along with us,” said Tom Lance, Senior Pastor at The Grove. “It hasn’t been easy, but it has been good.”

We are looking for even more subcontractor and vendor partners to come along side us to build this project. The Grove will run the facility at no cost to families and emancipated foster youth looking to make a fresh start. When we finish, our development and operating model will be made available to all non-profit agencies in Riverside, the region and across the entire country. In addition to our conventionally framed homes, we will include alternatives for tiny homes on chassis and for adaptive reuse of existing buildings.
