Overview
The project included the renovation of five mid-rise concrete and steel buildings for both Assisted Living and Independent Living Life Care Facilities. The project scope of work included interior demolition, abatement, seismic retrofit, core and shell upgrades, tenant improvements, exterior building restoration and site improvements.
The North Building Seismic Retrofit project consisted of bush hammering of existing cast-in-place walls, drill and epoxy dowels, rebar mats, and sprayed gunite to create new shear panels. This also involved extensive plate ties of the roof diaphragm to the building structure.
