Overview

The North Hall Replacement project involved construction of the new 53,000 sf, three-story structure to replace the current North Hall which was demolished. The structure rests on 130 24” diameter 60 ft deep piers and utilized seismic brace frames in the structural system. The facility consists of a general classroom and office building that incorporates a black box theater, the District’s Criminal Justice Division, which includes Administration of Justice, Corrections, Criminal Justice, and Police Science and Police Training Drill yard and Workout space. North Hall also houses the San Bernardino Valley College Police Academy in conjunction with San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department. The Police Academy, certified by the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST), is considered to be one of the top basic academies in the state.
