A new 48,393 square foot, 2-story mathematics and computer science facility containing biology and anatomy laboratories with cadaver and cell tissue reasearch facilities, classrooms, offices and conference rooms.
The construction of a 200 linear foot by 20-ft tall cast-in-place retaining wall, that also acted as the back wall of the structure, created scheduling and safety challenges for the project. The wall construction and curing drove the critical path during the first four months of construction.
The building was placed directly over the existing site utility corridor and many site utilities had to be relocated and upgraded to code without any shutdowns during instructional time. All utilities were rerouted without any downtime to the campus.
